Apprentice Case Studies
Dale Lodge - Advanced Mechanical Engineering Apprentice 2005-2009
The Cummins Apprenticeship scheme appealed to me because of the ability to gain real work experience alongside higher education and earning a wage. Putting this together with the higher education at Kirklees College and Huddersfield University has helped me move and progress through the company to my current role as a Manufacturing Engineer for Huddersfield Turbo Plant, Variable Geometry Business Unit. My development continues to be supported by Cummins through the mentor support of senior employees and Cummins Turbo Technologies funding my next goal of completing an MBA.
Neil Goodwin - Advanced Mechanical Engineering Apprentice 2005-2009
I have benefitted greatly from the Apprenticeship scheme at Cummins Turbo Technologies. I genuinely believe an Advanced Apprenticeship is the best way to go to begin a successful career. During my apprenticeship I gained all the skills and experience required for Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing. I currently work as part of the turbocharger Design and Development Team. Cummins Turbo Technologies also supports further learning beyond the Apprenticeship, this financial support has allowed me to work towards and achieve my Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
